Swapping for Green

Any cool combos that you'd like see out there in the automotive world?

For a luxury car, I've always been in awe of the LS430 but for my cool green combo I've imagined it with the smooth straight six from the earlier IS250. That mated to the 7 seven speed auto and a 0.25 Cd would make a sweet luxo-cruiser.

For a sports car, the 3800cc GM naturally aspirated V6 mated to a 6 speed manual in the C7 Corvette. That should drop the weight even closer to 3000 pounds and with it's low frontal area and excellent handling it could probably easily get it well into the 40s if you could drive it slow enough.

Not exactly in the upper end of the MPG spectrum for either but both would be much better than the typical cars you'd find in their respective classes.

I was thinking about this the other day.

I'd like to see a light, aerodynamic car with a CVT or DSG transmission that could be P&G'd without the added footwork & handiwork demanded by a manual. Something that would make hypermiling easier.

Like a Prius, but without the added cost of the battery/motor system.

Not that there's anything wrong with that. I wouldn't turn down a Prius!
