Pretty soon I'll be taking off my egr and intake Mani to do some cleaning and porting. I have an idea that I'd like to run by everyone. Since a warm air intake reduces pumping losses, could my system benefit if I painted the intake manifold with a paint that holds in heat? Basically ensuring that the air stays warm until it reaches the pistons. However this would also prevent the intake Mani from picking up heat from the engine bay, so I guess it could lower the air temp. I've never paid attention to this, but later I'll take the car for a drive and see if the intake side is warm to the touch afterwards.

I'm just not so sure you'd actually see any sort of gains at all.

dont think so... its a 92 Civic VX. not alot of extra bits other than EGR and lean burn
