Tall man in a Tiny Car!

hey, I'm new obviously. Been lurkin' for a little bit.

Last year, I bought my first Honda because I wanted some much better fuel mileage. I decided on the 91 Hatchback 5 speed and ended up EASILY averaging 40mpg. For me, that's a big deal!

Then, I got to make everybody laugh because I'm 6' 7" and I have the smallest car in the parking lot!

After doing some reading here at Ecomodder, 40mpg just isn't good enough! So, I sold that and got my first 93' VX

I saw a comment in the "65+ efficiency mods" post calling the VX "miserly"

My compliments to the person that wrote that, cause I chuckled about that a few times!

Anyway, the VX is a cali car and I'm topping off around 44mpg, but I'm gonna do the FED conversion that I found on THIS SITE! So, thanks in advance! And I hope to share my miserly experiences with others that are a little miserly themselves!

That reminds me of one of the few Simpsons episodes I've ever seen, a huge guy clambering out of his dinky little car to quietly ask Nelson, "Excuse me, but were you mocking the disproportionate relationship of my size to that of my car?" Surprisingly erudite as well as large, the guy goes on to parade Nelson through town and subject him to similar ridicule. I actually felt bad for Nelson by the end of that.

Anyway! Hey, welcome and have a blast. Not a big blast though, that's inefficient.

Welcome to the forum! Glad we were able to offer both a chuckle AND some useful info.

When I read the thread title, I thought... wait, Renault made a lean burn Fuego??

That's a pretty cool lookin' car. When I was in high school, I really wanted a VW Scirocco which looks pretty similar! But instead, my first set of wheels was an 84' full-size Blazer on 33's with a brand new crate motor. Bought it before 9/11, so after 9/11 I thought $2.00+ gas was INSANE! Now, we long for those days....

The first time that I went to Costco and gas was over $2.00 I went inside, looking for a bicycle.

I just now registered the odd juxtaposition of VX and Fuego. My mind, she is blown.
