I didn't notice the propeller, only what appears to be a can-type combustor chamber.

Correct. Can-annular combustion.
Yes, those are C-130 props.
No, that is not my garage. It's my shop at work. It's nice to bring your car inside during the winter to melt off all that crap that builds up in the wheel wells.
And to do your own oil changes inside in February.
FYI, I am a jet engine mechanic, lol.

One of my uncles is an aircraft mechanic, but IIRC he's more used to piston-engined aircraft.

Looking at lowering the back to match the front. Also want to install 2.73s in the back before winter. I can't forget to swap out the gear on the VSS so the speedometer reads proper.
Maybe look around and get some weight reduction done.

It's a ford. vss is done in software via correction factor on tire size or on some obd2, transmission gear.

They didn't eliminate the VSS on Panthers until 2003. 03+ need the software/ tune to correct it.
All -02's have a VSS with interchangeable gear.

Found that my mileage was starting to drop off. Discovered that my left rear tire was low. Filled all tires back up to 35 psi. Oil changed and transmission fluid added.
Back up in the 400+ mile per tank range again. Back to hypermiling and getting even better economy.

Offically at 149 lbs removed, with the goal of 200 lbs total in sight.
There's a few things I have in mind. Oh, if the A/C goes, I'm totally ripping the whole system out of the car. It's only in right now because it works.
Still kicking along at high 23s mpg now, for the entire tank, which is pretty good, seeing how its rated at 15 city, 18 combined, 23 highway.

Remember back in 97 when it was rated, they used REAL gasoline which had more BTU's.

These are the updated numbers.
Next road trip, I'm going to use the ethonol-free 91 octane to see what it can do..
