Tesla vs Electro-Metro!
Hey EVeryone!
Tomorrow, I am taking the Electro-Metro to a ribbon-cutting grand opening of an Electric Vehicle Charging Station!
There will be a Tesla Roadster there as well, but I am pretty sure all the TV crews are coming out to see the homebrew Metro.
I mean WHO NEEDS 200+ miles per charge and crazy acceleration when they could have $10 hub caps, an open source controller, and a dashboard virtual picture frame!
So anyways, I'm taking my camera and will try to get some nice photos of low-budget meeting high-budget.
Maybe if I really beg, they will allow me to stare at the Tesla.

Remember to bring up cost per mile/HP etc. (your Metro should win that race ALL day)

An EV charging station? Already? Wow. Sure surprising to me. The media should be more interested in the Electro-Metro. Truth is though, I'd rather take a Tesla, then gut it, and shove the EV components into something like an Aveo. $10 hubcaps, plus a 200+ mile range.

I don't think my parents will let me call in sick for school to see the first EV charging station.

I suppose that if a person bought both cars, and put 100,000 miles on each of them, the cost per mile would be about a dollar for the Tesla and a penny for the Metro!

I wouldn't suggest racing the Tesla. I understand they wipe out Porsches =:-0

Who else remembers that the first Porsche was an all-wheel drive electric off-road train? It was used to haul munitions to the trenches in WW1, at about 4 MPH.
