It's only depreciation if you're buying it to sell it. I bought it to use it, and every dollar is "spent" on it, not "invested" in it. What's depreciation? It'll be "worth" a few hundred when it's nearly dead and the place I'm buying its replacement from pretends I'm "trading" it in.

So far, it looks like low to mid 50s average for mpg when driven locally in warm weather with the congestion issues we try to avoid but invariably fail at avoiding. Two rides today. When I arrived home the first time, it was at 59.9. Second time on a warm engine I reached arby's at 58 coming back home I hit 61.4, highest I saw today was close to 65.

On a new car with 230 total miles.

I'd take a rental fleet of 10 Mirages.

Tried that. Ended up with a Jetta with multiple blown lights and a thumpy tire and got 29MPG for the trip.

PS: nice work on the MPG. I'm of the opinion that Mitsu was slightly conservative in their ratings. (They're only prohibited from overstating them.) They knew with the way they would be marketing the car ("most efficient non-hybrid" etc.) that a lot of owners would be watching the MPG displays like hawks, and didn't want a repeat of the recent Hyundai/Ford debacles.

Short fill today, 147.4 miles, 2.752 gallons, 53.56 mpg. Even ran the AC to see what effect it would have, looked like about 10%.

Now I'm POed that I even recorded the first fill, since it killed my average. Oh well, I still love this car.

My fuel log started at 15 miles on a new car.

My Aygo (George) had 16 miles on it when I got it - 6 months old, showroom dolly. My fuel log was 16 miles short of his total miles when I traded him.

retired, no real routine, just try to avoid the rush hour traffic. I was surprised they had older cars in inventory since they sold 16k in the US last year after projecting 7k. The recent drop in gas prices probably affected sales and Mitsu offered cash back so I took it.
