Is there a basics for dumbies on the Scanguage?

I am totally clueless on how the thing hooks up, how complex it is and if one will work on an old non computer, carbaurated car.

Any posts or threads on the subject that you would recommend. I looked around and only see where I would have to spend hours to get this info.

I think TDIclub.com and cleanmpg.com both have a lot of in-depth info (programming, etc.) about the Scangauge in their respective forum sections.

I own one myself, but I've only used it on post-2000 model vehicles....

I also recommend cleanmpg. (I'm a mod there, though....)

It only works for 1996 and newer vehicles that have the OBD-II diagnostic port. It's dead simple to use - if you can dial a cell phone you can use the Scangauge.

Run you hand behind the lower edge of the gash trim in the footwell. On the left side you should find the OBDII plug in its standard location.

Everything you need to know can be found in the scangauge user manual or in this post if you want to dig deeper.
