Well stop complaining, here in Sydney it costs me around AU$65 to fill my 42L tank (about 10 gallons) in my corolla and I have to do around once a week! Even getting 600km per tank (360 miles). I'm moving in the next couple of months and building an electric motorbike to offset our driving but still. You guys have got it easy compared to most of the rest of the world.

If you're still driving your car the same then what's the difference between 10 dollars a week or 45 dollars once a month

Have you tried carpooling, public transportation, cycling or moving closer to work?
I filled up today, 4.029/gallon, cost me $36.33. That's what I was paying regularly when I had my Corolla over a year ago. Civic pride!

lol @ this thread. Prices never go down long term. Griping changes nothing. What YOU can do is change yourself or things you have control over.
nice wrench mullet !

This is what I've never understood. I've known several broke college students that have this mentality. I can't afford $45 for a fill up, I'll just put in $10 here and there. But, they still drive 200 miles a week no matter what! Doesn't make sense to me.
My most expensive fillup in the Paseo was last night at a hair under $39. I love my small car.

I don't get it either. I know several people like this as well.
"I never let my car below 3/4 (or half, or whatever) tank anymore because I can't afford to fill it".
Tried explaining it to a couple of them, now I just give up. Apparently math and logic are trumped by personal emotion.

With diesel at $5.70 a gallon here in Quebec city, my next fillup in the TDI will be my most expensive to date, in excess of $70. It's a good thing it will also be my best tank ever.

If I fallowed the same logic I would have paid an extra $3 over the last month, plus spending another 20 minutes or more at gas stations filling up $10 at a time, instead I filled up on april 14th when gas was $3.59 a gallon and am still running on it.

I HATE filling the tank on my F150 Supercrew. (gladly, I don't have to as often...) But even the Jeep is never much below 1/2 tank (well, when I drive it and fill it), and the Neon was under 1/4 tank but was about $35 to fill it.
Its not as painful to fill if you don't let it under 1/2. Besides, its nice to know the tank has fuel if an emergency creeps up...
