I'd go for such a contraption... but definitely would put the wheel farther back to retain the rear seats. No need for the back trunk, unless these cars have dual engines there's room for a trunk up front. Just have to be careful loading it so you don't wind up with spears through your body in a collision.

They're front engine, still, I'd assume. I believe those are just suspended third wheel designs.

With the solid rear axle of the j-bodies, it wouldn't be that hard to build a single rear wheel structure right onto the axle. That's assuming they kept the rear axle.

That sled reminded me of two things.

1) You can buy basically the same thing right now: BRP Can-Am Spyder Roadster
I've seen a couple driving around.

2) There was recently a converted snowmachine racing at Bonneville. There's a few more pics, including some in the pits, if you poke around on that site.

Combine the two and you'd have a fast, fun, efficient commuter.

Talking about reverse trikes, here's a fun toy for sand jockeys. Low center of gravity, unsinkable heavy-duty Kevlar track & legendary Vmax performance (0-60 @2.8 sec!)

Saw the first one again, driving past the window at work. It definitely lives in Texas. If it's not the same car, it's a twin.

It'd be a lot cooler if the front engine was omitted entirely and they had a 250cc twist-n-go scooter engine/trans (like from a honda helix?) in back. Gut as much weight as possible and you got a decent city vehicle with almost no maintenance required.

But no A/C :P
