On EFI vehicles, as the airflow is reduced, the sensors reduce fuel flow and thus HP output. Not a problem @ cruise, but really noticeable on the Pasadena freeway on ramps.

BTW if you want to mod your intake, go ahead. I'm just saying the gains will be minimal

You are right, thought in my case I haven't felt any losses at any revs.
In any case, I will see after a few thousand kilometers if it will have been worth it

I’m not familiar with your engine or it’s controls but if it has a MAF sensor in the intake tubing, oversizing that tubing will affect the accuracy. Velocity at the MAF in an oversized pipe would be quite different than the velocity at the throttle body.

MAF sensor is locater after the airbox. The snorkel that has been taken out is located before the airbox.
That's one of the reason why I didn't want to install a "real" CAI : no modification had to be done to the MAF piping, I can keep using the 8€ OEM filter, air is pumped almost from the same location in the engine bay, and it's free

For now, fuel economy hasn't significantly changed : 7L/100km on the last tank vs 7,7L/100km on average before the mod (on E85 fuel).
