Throttle Body Spacer
So, I have the 2016 Toyota Corolla LE ECO 1.8L 2ZR-FE engine. Would adding a throttle body spacer help my fuel economy? I really don't care about top speed. I just want the torque range more in the lower rpm band like 1,000-2,500 rpm range. Any way that putting one in would do that? Any other way to lower the torque band to the lower rpm range?

here I did alittle research for you........
"Type of Engine
These spacers mainly benefit older engines. In particular, those with fuel injection systems that have the fuel go directly into the throttle body, where it then mixes with air before going into the combustion chamber. It also can help with carburetor systems. However, if the vehicle has a multi-port fuel injection system or other top of the line system, then that small change in the air vortex will not make any difference to the performance, torque or horsepower. Therefore, before you go out and purchase a spacer, make sure your engine can actually benefit from having this upgrade."
I believe the answer is NO.

Ok, Thank you. I tried reading through the tread on here about them, but just couldn't wrap my head around it. This is probably the simplest answer I have heard yet. Thank you

Mechanically, that car is pretty close to optimized already. I'd try and focus on other areas. Here's an easy first step: Pump your tires up to the ever so popular 45psi. I noticed a good 3-4% gain going from 32 to 45.

There may be a 3.5±.5% increase in efficiency going from 32 - 45, but I am pretty sure that there would not be a discernible improvement increasing from 44 - 45.
By the way, I did a Google search, and someone showed a horsepower increase on a dynamometer for a similar Civic, but I still do not care!

You do not have the 2ZR-FE, you have the 2ZR-FAE. It does not even use the throttle body under normal operation!
