Timing in 2000 Mercury 4.6

Is there any way to Kill the advance timing on my 2000 Mercury 4.6??

I would like a system allowing it to be switched on and off.

I need it to run at top dead center at certain times.

Rich

Does someone offer a chip for that car that would allow timing control? I have no idea, but that 4.6 engine has been on the road since the 1992 model; so there should be some products on the market that would do what you want. Maybe a hot rod site?

That's the going price for messing with the ECU, there's never anything cheaper.

SCT Xcal3 is good for that. You can find some cheaper ones on eBay or around the various Panther platform forums.
