couple people all ready blew up the reverse gear when towing good luck just trying to help you out from blowing yours up.. flat land is ok

NO backing up on a hill when towing.. it only took one of them 2 seconds to blow the reverse gear..

the reverse gear runs off the 60kw motor


powered by the engine >electrical power > 60kw motor

I will say the Prius got stuck on a hill once. Decided to park down in a ditch like everyone else. There actually is no reverse gear. Just e motor. It would not do it. We had to push it. Lol

My understanding of the gm truck hybrid transmissions is they are 4 speed transmission with electric motors at the input/output. The term "cvt" is a bit misleading imo, there is no slipping component as in Nissan CVT's.

And yes, I did back it up a moderate hill into our garage. No clutch slippage, all movement in reverse is powered by the output electric motor if I understand correctly.
