Yeah, when I observe the regional vehicle mix- Subdivisions, Silverados, Cadillacs- it's hard to believe these stats.

is there something inherently wrong with a horizontally opposed 2 cylinder? I mean you need two throws on the crank, and double cams, but otherwise it should be fairly balanced and small in a couple dimensions.

Older BMW bikes featured that layout for decades.

It's worth noting too that they forcast very small 3 cylinder sales and tiny electric sales all the way through 2020.

I'm curious why Ford choose to use aluminum for the body and steel for the frame instead of the other way around? I would think the bulk of the weight is in the frame. Body damage is also more likely than frame damage, so making the body out of steel would reduce repair cost.
I have a feeling my insurance rates are about to go up as the cost to repair vehicles skyrockets.

I noticed the lack of 3 cylinders representing, what made me think "where did the two cylinder go?"
There were quite a few in the early days. I don't know if it was just power marketing that wiped em out or if there is something inherently wrong with them (too pulsey?) for a car. Might be a good "range extender" though... (though I'm expecting to see some floating piston/linear alternator thingies to start appearing there)

Trucks still need to be designed to work.
It would take a lot of gussetts and fish plates to meet the strength of a steel frame.
Shame most of those trucks will never haul anything heavier than the groceries.....

That's pretty much the life of a half ton on the east coast in the city from what I have seen.
