Trip Odometer and EOC
I was just wondering if a trip tracking odo works during eoc....i've only done EOC a couple times, and it's hard to tell if it registers on my trip odometer in my 09 cobalt
or should I go by the main odometer when keeping track of miles done?

Just a guess, but I'd say if your speedometer is working, then the odometer is also working.
When the engine is off, do you switch the key back to "run" during the coast?

If your key isn't in "Run" position, or at least in "On" position, it's not recording mileage in most of today's vehicles. The ECM controls the mileage readout based on VSS and other sensory inputs, so unless the ECM is powered, chances are you're not getting the mileage update.

ok, yeah I leave it in the on position (with all electronics on)....otherwise the steering wheel locks up....thats good to know; i was thinking that EOC is only worth it if I'm able to record distance covered while using it

Yep, you're doing it fine, then. My steering doesn't lock if the transmission's not in park, I can't turn the key all the way back unless I'm stopped in park, so I don't have to worry about the steering lock thing.
