Turkish Electric Car - Yerel T1 - Travels 436 KM On Single Charge (w/videos)

This is awesome!

Turkish Electric Car Travels 436 KM On Single Charge

It has a 30Kwh pack, and went 436km / 270 miles on a single charge. A great achievement.

Get this: the front wheel covers are FIXED - they do not spin! So they do not churn the air - you gotta' watch the videos!

Bizarre. I was trying to look up more information and then the keyboard on my laptop stopped responding. Then my computer completely died.

This is the official website, but the only additional information they seem to give is two dimensions: 1.75m wide and 4m long.

This image is 704 pixels wide:

176 pixels per meter. It is 217 pixels tall, so 1.23m tall.

Or, 13'1.5" long, 5'9" wide, and 4'0.5"

I e-mailed and asked about the front wheel covers.

I wondered why they made the wheel covers round, if they were stationary, they could have made skirts, but if it were not for the logo, these would attract less attention. The tires would still create turbulence!

You're right about the wheel covers / skirts.

I am also suspicious of the "punt" in the back:

It may generate some downforce, but I think it adds drag. And the sides are not tapered; only the roof is tapered in plan. It looks like the rear wheel track is narrower, but the sides are not tapered:

The forums allowed me to attach the diagram, but not the diagram on the Template, Facebook kept crashing Opera when I tried to use it for image hosting, and I cannot get an actual URL to link anymore.

Why would they taper the roof in plan, but not the sides? That is like skipping leg day!

That "punt" is weird, I wonder what they call that. An inverse bumper? A "No spare tire for you?!" It looks cool, but I cannot imagine any benefit beyond cost and weight savings, and no advantage making it worthwhile.

As I mentioned, no bumper or spare tire. Prefer fix-a-flat or calling the Turkish equivalent of AAA? Fine, but I really think that at least having the option of a spare tire is worthwhile. I have had several tires shred. Fix-a-flat cannot fix that. I am often out of cell phone range, which would make it difficult to put up the AAAsignal. It probably also shrinks the trunk more than tapering the sides would. Those are skinny tires! They do not need much room!

Neat micro car. Appears more as a car. The Chairiot wheelchair car is selling in CA. now which is almost the last micro car EV here.
