You think THATS bad - you want to see the inside. Honestly, every day a little bit of me dies...

Radical concept from the land of design excellence. Lovely, isn't it ? Er No.

Even FIAT lost their bottle and redesigned it.
It was just some crossover between their design teams:

Not all racing "styling" belongs on the street.

This morning I was forced to endure an onslaught of photons bouncing off an Infiniti QX56 and into my eyeballs, which led me to recognize that it's a hideous, ghastly machine.

At first I thought it was just a Suburban wearing a Halloween costume or something, but no.. the QX56 is just uglier than a bag of smashed bumholes.

I don't mean that because it's large, or because it's an SUV, or whatever... I am strictly talking visual aesthetics - it's a MESS! Everyone involved in skinning that machine should be ashamed of themselves. ugh!

Sales success ?

No.

EDIT - but it did come with a factory grill block.

Nuff said about the Fiat, beauty is in the eye of the beholder...the Fiat is actually a well built car with good driving characteristics, although I'd have to agree it's definitely not a looker. But hey, would you rather marry a beautiful but annoying girl or a less attractive but very sweet lady....

PS This post was brought to you by Fiat minded (blinded) guy.

I've had 2 pacers and 3 gremlins are they kind of use their unattractiveness to make people smile. I've driven around around in my 64 nova with open headers nasty cam loud as balls but no one bats an eye. Drive around in a pacer you wouldn't believe how many smiles, thumbs up, and " oh my gosh I haven't seen one of these in 30 years" you get.

[IMG][/IMG]An AMC Gremlin in itself doesn't make me roll my eyes to myself the way a Pacer does.

The early ones even competed in road racing with their 304 V8's . It might be fun in that form.

I had the opportunity to deliver a "74 with the extended crash bumpers from Boston to central CA. Auto w 6cyl. It did ok, but the ride quality, and seat comfort were ghastly.

Through a Driveaway Company, I had just previous delivered a 3,000 mile Caddy Seville
Diesel from Portland to Boston. Perhaps, I was jaded by that comfort, but the Gremlin I drove had a goat cart like ride; not a go cart, but a GOAT cart ride. I was glad to be done with it.

An early pre crash bumper 304 w manual shift isn't that bad looking, if not a bright grape color or something.

I remember reading that the rear window was quite flimsy in its strength, and someone
trying to stuff too much into the back hatch could VERY easily break the back window.

The sport Hornet with the 360 V8, is now considered a sleeper muscle car classic!

I still see those. Yuck!

The later Polonezes had a 1.5 multipoint injection lump, from Rover iirc.
