There is a message there, I am not going to go after it.
I wouldn't mind one of the smaller pickups, right now over here they are no longer being made, all of them got bigger. And for perspective in my 4X4 club the general consensus was that the manufacturers needed to come out with new compact-midsized trucks big ones don't do as good on the trails we take.

I have seen some people that would borrow some one elses truck so they wouldn't scratch theirs. I rented one once when mine got shortened by a distracted driver, and in the contract I could haul boxes, but not something like rail road ties, lumber, bricks etc. I wasn't allowed to tow, and even though it was a 4X4 I wasn't allowed to take it off the maintianed roads. It was one of those moments that made me wonder.

Ugly is in the eye of the beholder, to me most any truck that isn't used for its intended purpose is ugly, a well used scratched, beat up farm truck looks good.

They are being made but not sold in the US - people seem to equate the idea of truck with SUV etc. maybe. I kind of cross-posted this and have taken this thread to Cuba in an unintentional Hijack - this post seems a reasonable answer to my original question though - maybe.

Anyway, back to the ugly cars. Congratulations to Mitsubishi who managed to turn this reasonably nice looking hatch :

into this by a process of hitting it with the ugly stick.

The wheel skirts are kinda cute. The articulation of the first one puts many modern SUVs to shame.
