There are no guarantees but a great start: is to envision it.
And it does appear you're off to a great start: 100MPGUS

Looks like the 12th Annual Green Grand Prix will be held on Friday April 15th, 2016.
-
In short this translates into 144 days until event day.
That leaves about 142 days....
to go through everything....
just one more time...

Wow. are you expecting to beat last years amazing number? I might enter my 2002 S-10 just for the heck of it. i have gotten 30mpg on the interstate ONCE. I wonder what I can get on a closed course.

100MPGUS,
There's quite a few changes to Centurion since the 2015 Green Grand Prix and I'm cautiously optimistic. If the car makes it to the event under its own power in 2016, then there's an excellent chance to seriously challenge the 250mpg mark she previously set. There is some track repairs currently in the works too
-
If you know your S-10 like the back of your hand, you should be able to figure out your strategy in the first few laps on the track. It's a riot but extremely challenging at the same time. If you go I hope to meet you!

9 Main Street wishes a Happy Thanksgiving to the Ecomodding Community!

9 Main is now officially running on 110 lbs of lithium.
Centurion uses a mere 4lb lithium battery for the starter.

How did you get the body? did you have to build it yourself? If so how? fiberglass?

Hi M_a_t_t,
The body on a Centurion is hand made - it is not a kit like some of the other kit cars you may have seen. Construction is straightforward and not real expensive. Depending on one's skills there can be a fair amount of time involved.

The designer of the car (R.Q. Riley) has a webpage that explains the fiberglass over foam construction:
-
One-Off Construction Using Fiberglass Over Foam
-
If you browse his website you'll see a variety of do it yourself projects that use this technique to build the body.

I built roughly 90% of what you see in my pics. This was, for all practical purposes, an unfinished project that passed through a couple of owners and unfortunately, very little of the body or drivetrain was save-able. So using Riley's plans I set out to build the car mostly as it was intended, then added a few things of my own.

This morning I was talking to some of my friends in one of my classes about your car and the teacher came up and said that he was pretty sure that one of his friends had a ca that looked like yours he said it was weird cuz it didnt have and logos or anything. What do you think the chances are that he did?

It's very possible M_a_t_t. I've lost track of yet another Centurion from years ago, but I've actually counted five in my lifetime:
1) The Original Centurion by R.Q. Riley
2) The one at Lane Motor Museum
3) CrazyJerry's (this thread)
4) GreenHornet's (fellow ecomodder)
5) The one I've lost track of.

Last year I was contacted that there was another in NY but I've not been able to make contact with that person so I can't confirm the existence of that car.

It's a big planet and who knows what may be hiding somewhere in a barn or in the treeline, etc. Your teacher may very well have seen a Centurion. There were some kit cars that could also be associated with this design. A notable one would be a "Bricklin" although it would be quite a bit larger than a Centurion.

I wish I had nothing but time to travel with this car. Your class would get a real kick out of it. This Fall Centurion was invited to Seaway Area Tech and the students (and staff) loved it!
