$1.99 gas and 70+ MPG at 30 F temps? Without Ecomodder I would probably be driving the Civic, not the Insight, and getting 30 to 35 MPG. Money saved, plus a fun hobby, what's not to like?

Most people buy SUVs. It's no wonder Ecomodder sounds like crickets when gas is low. I wonder how many people will offer to buy my car when gas reaches $4/gallon again.

I’ve also noticed that it seems as if the bottom has fallen out of fuel prices... in fact, the last time it was this cheap was when I was first getting started on here...

They will be squeeling like pigs when the cheap gas is over $3.50 a gallon and they are up side down on their gas guzzlers loan.

They certainly will, and (US) automakers will be scrambling to bring sedans and or wagons back onto the market... or just electrify all the SUVs?

I don't know but trump will likely still be president when it hita the fan and has insinuated that he is going to hang them out to dry after closing down all those car assembly plants and putting thousands of people out of jobs next time they get into financial trouble.

I am pretty sure that when gas goes back up people will demand the government does something.

Subsidize gas [more]?
Subsidize ego haulers?

How dare we suggest they make logical decisions?!

Now is the time to raise the Federal fuel tax back to its historic percentage. Where the roads pay their own way. And maintain that hereon.

It’s a disgrace to have it otherwise.

Given that the rest of us subsidize boondoggles like eiectic cars, subsidizing urban sprawl has been unconscionable altogether.

Seems to me that now would be a good time to pick up a spare ecovehicle. My thoughts are that as gas prices drop so do economy car prices since most people don't "need" a gas miser anymore. Get'em while they're hot. JJ

I followed that thinking decades ago and wound up with seven vehicles.

...now I'm down to three.

Maybe making the minivans cool again. OK, most rednecks might not see a minivan as cool...

Japan on the other hand takes a way more reasonable approach with minivans outnumbering trucks and SUVs. Well, I'd much rather take something like this Toyota Noah instead of a Rav4.
