There're people ahead of the curve and people behind the curve. Then there's a big lump in the middle that keep the curve from moving.

Here's something that doesn't mesh with recent vehicle-buying trends:
Two U.S. surveys have shown that...
Quote:
drivers expect prices to increase by more than $1 in the next five years to $3.50 per gallon, according to a recent survey by the Consumer Federation of America. Those projections are in line with projections by the federal Energy Information Administration.

Are Low Gas Prices Here to Stay? Consumers Aren
Either that or it means people who are buying thirstier vehicles are willing to pay 75% more to fuel them in the next few years.

Or, we'll see a repeat of 2008-09, and the people buying SUVs and trucks now figure they'll sell them if gas prices go too high--without considering who would want to buy them, or the losses they'll take--because they haven't thought that far ahead.
Edit: Also, I hate headlines like, "Are Low Gas Prices Here to Stay?" Since they don't specify a time frame, the question is inane. Here to stay...through next week? Sure! Through the end of the year? Maybe! Five years? Probably not. A million years?

I just paid $1.979/gal, almost the lowest since I've been tracking fillups (absolute lowest was $1.969/gal in August 2017). AAA says the national average is $0.10 lower than it was a year ago. How's that forum traffic?

CRICKETS INDEED!
Ironic how things have changed, considering the 4th most replied-to thread in 2018 was...
Are the normies noticing rising gas prices yet? Gas is at a multi-year high price.
That was back in March.
Lately, regular gas around here has been under $1 / litre for the first time in recent memory.
I'm planning to LS-swap the Firefly! New build thread - watch for it!

Cheap gas and not really any shortage of electric vehicles.
Everyone has what they want.
