Used Car Feature: 2007 Hyundai Elantra / Kia Spectra

People just aren’t buying new vehicles.* Sales figures from nearly every manufacturer confirm the trend.* With the Global Economic horizon not looking so rosy, the advice is to hang on to what you have, buy what you need, and ride out the storm.* But what if your vehicle finally gave up and is too costly [...]

Hey, that's my car!

Base models can be found with a 5-speed manual, while all models offer the 1.6L, 4-cylinder.
In NA we only get the 2.0.

Oops -- you're right, 2.0L is correct -- I confused the Accent's engine at the time.

So, would you agree that it's a good value?

It's a great car for the price, I love it. I would have been all over the 1.6 had they offered it.

I bought it over the corolla for 3 reasons. First, I don't care about resale value and intend to drive it till the wheels fall off. Second, the wife stated AC and heated seats were mandatory, which placed the corolla at a much higher price. Third, with our newborn, we needed something quite big. The elantra has more trunk and interior space than the corolla, noticeably 1.5 inch more leg room. That probably seems insignificant, but with a properly installed rear facing child seat, that may very well be the difference between your better half sitting in the front or behind the driver seat.

The car will average over 40 mpg on the highway on the cruise at 60 mph with the AC on. It tops between 55-60 mpg at 40 mph.
