Using outdoor remote control outlet as kill switch for EOC?
Just had an idea. I have an '04 Corolla 5-speed that I am starting to hypermile, and now I want to install a kill switch to help with EOC. At first I was thinking of wiring a switch onto the steering wheel, but then I realized that that wouldn't work because I need to be able to, uh, turn it. I was looking at other options, but then I had an idea, and some searching led to the Woods 32555 Outdoor Remote Control Outlet Converter Kit that I would post link to if my post count were high enough.
It's on sale for $13, with a 4.5 star rating from 1,112 reviews.
Could I use this to interrupt the injector ground to shut them off? The remote should be able to be mounted to the steering wheel, and there are separate on and off switches on the remote, so there won't be confusion about whether I'm turning the injectors on or off (I tend to get confused about that sort of thing...)
Oh, and I guess this is my first post, so hey everyone, my name is Jooseppi. The Corolla is my DD. I'll post in the introductions forum soon.

There is a wireless push button normally closed switch on eBay, that's small and compact. I have thought about buying it and mounting it on the steering wheel, but am too lazy to spend the 20$ it costs.

The clock spring will often have extra unused terminals that can be used for a steering mounted kill switch. You won't often have the need to kill the engine mid corner, but I think most people will find the shifter mounted switch most user friendly.

Rats, it looks like the Amazon unit defaults to "Off" if it loses power. That wouldn't work for my design.
Thanks for the eBay link. I'll think about it. I may just wire into the shifter, too.

What would you guys recommend as a reliable NC switch? And where should I get the extra wiring?

Ummm....the 120V AC power is most likely what powers the control circuit inside the main unit of the 32555. Not too sure, but I think your injectors are <120V and not AC. Soooo, yeah. Good idea in the big picture, not so much in the fuzzy details.

The actual circuitry will likely be running on 12v anyway. Usually you can remove all the Mains AC side of the board and run it directly off 12v (could be 5v).
