The gain for VGs, however, is indeterminate because you don't really know *where* to put them, unless you are willing to pay for wind-tunnel te$ting and/or commit to a fanta$tic CFD analy$i$.
Wasn't Mitsubishi's main problem getting the vortices to work with the rear wing, rather than simply getting the VG to work ?

That seems to complicate matters a wee bit more ...

Whats your evaluation of that old top duct on the ford ??
Most likely working against you.
Remove it and see what difference it makes.

When I get some free time and dry weather lining up together (which is about as hard to find right now as FE results from VGs), I'll be doing some ABA testing with my Aspire. It's a hatchback, so it won't be the same as Mitsu's application, but I haven't noticed a difference other than pretty looking tuft flows since I taped them on.

I think it's fairly clear that most of us can agree that any effect on FE, either positive or negative is quite negligible. That said, I'm actually considering putting some on my car. I have a WRX and the back window never has air flowing over it and it's annoying. I don't have any "wind" to keep it clear when it gets wet or snowy. I've been looking for something that might help with this problem, plus, I think the delta-wing type look kind of cool!

Yea!

I saw the video and even made a brief comment. The video showed results of a run with spoiler, with VGs and stock. As I recall it, the spoiler edged out stock by a slim margin and the VGs trailed. I hope he posts back again.

It's here: http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthrea...ock-16573.html

Figured it would be better if a test wasn't buried in this discussion.
