Why don't there seem to be any economy races in the greater Low Countries region?

In fact, you're probably p&g'ing intuitively already, as in eco mode, an A2 or Lupo 3L shifts to neutral as soon as you release the gas pedal. You should just try a get the most out of this unique feature. That is, unique for a 1 decade old design, as VW's newest implementation of its DSG gearbox reportedly also glides in neutral.

This hakkapeliitta R has the lowest RR figure that there can be. As good figure has only Michelin X-ice 2. Summer tires has worse figures than winter tires. Nokian tires has a model that will be better than their winter tires but its not released out yet.

Also winter is coming in finland... Average outside temperatures is close to +7 celsius.

I dont know the reason why you dont havea ny races there. My next fuel economy race will be this 8.10.

Results of the race:

Maakunnan Auto EcoRun 8.10.2011 - Autoliitto

We made few driving errors during route which incresed our fuel consumtion about at least 0.1 to max 0.2 liters. Difference to second best was 14% and the last race when the car was stock it was 8% so comparing results to that previous race there is some progress made. And of course there should be with this much changes that I have done.

Route was difficult third best of the results a got 3.588 l/100km. If you calculate the 1.9 diesel class average it was 3,5 liters. Then the diffrence would be 19%.

Mods made since last post:
xenon headlamps
0W-30 engine oils

Fuel log average is going in the right direction, but winter is coming so it will be difficult to get good tank results once it goes to minus celsius degrees if and when there is lots of cold starts.

Hi Vekke,

What I do not understand is that you insist on going 100km/h while trying to get under 2L/100km... If I tried to do that my rig would eat around 2 litres more than it does (VW Multivan, Cd value like castle Neuschwanstein).
Usually, I stick to around 90 km/h behind a truck; you should be able to break the 2L barrier without modding if you did that.

Agreed, not something to everybodys liking, but cheaper too :-)

So Long,

Tinduck

You go to have targets in your life. That is my and my companys target to prove my exellence to other. So if I can improve even the best car out there by 33% I must have some skills for the job. When I am driving on the road my smile is usually quite big but when I reach that target I will scream for joy!.

No progress will be made unless you try to push your boundaries and try to change the world. Also every 0.1 liters I can drop my fuel consumption means over 60€ saved during that year. I also want to save my personal time which is even more valuable than those fuel savings so I wont like to drive slow to save fuel and money. I want to drive fast and save money and my own time...

With stock car there is no chance in 2 liter range @ 90 km/h speed. My current best is 2.35 behind a truck @ average 85 km/h.

Route was about 260 km and 35% was on gravel. Gravel sections were very difficult in some places because it was muddy and your tires sinked to the mud. Instant gauge showed 4-5 liters at those places...

Today started to make my boattail and the evo1 version is already tested that it wont fall off. Its manufactured from 3mm thick black abs and drilled straight to rear hatch. Length is about 600mm or 24"

Angles used on the side tried to get 10 degrees and the roof according to template C. When I try to fit it to the template it is quite close IMO :/.
