VW makes MSN's page with their new electric

Sporty Hybrid.

Volkswagen Does Electric - MSN Autos

Quote:
Up till now, the German automaker has largely placed its bets on clean diesel as the fuel of the future. The New Compact Coupe is capable of up to 45 mpg, thanks to an efficient 1.4-liter direct-injection turbocharged 4-cylinder gasoline engine and a powerful electric motor. How powerful? Volkswagen says the combined output should be close to 177 horsepower. That means that unlike the Toyota Prius and Honda Insight, this gas-electric hybrid might turn out to be a machine people may actually enjoy driving.

Good news. I think it lacks in the personality department though.

It's a compact coupe. VWs, are usually fun to drive. At least the 4 I've owned were.

If its an article about VW and good gas mileage, bashing the Prius is almost a given it seems (not that they are worse cars, its just an observation).

Then again, I've seen Toyota doing its share of diesel-bashing.

Normally I don't worry much about looks, but I agree with Tas: it's lacking in the personality department.
