VX into 93 Civic Si swap?

Hey all,

I have a 1993 Si hatch and am interested in swapping in a VX drivetrain. Has anyone here done this yet?

Are there any hidden pitfalls? One would think that since they're both VTECs hopefully it won't be too hard. Also, anyone know of a good source for a powertrain somewhere near the northeast?

TIA!

You could try the guys at jdmsource.ca and see if they have more motors, that's where I got mine (tell them I sent you).

Anyway, shouldn't be too hard at all, I say go for it!

main problem will be the wiring for the wideband O2 sensor. It'll have an extra wire (or several wires)

Just waiting on a VX expert to chime in (TomO anyone?)

I dont own a honda but with all this discussion I am probably going to keep my eye out for a vx...
Can lean burn be acheived with the vx ecu/sensors and the next size engine retained such as the 1.6? Personally if that is possible i would be totally happy with, say an 89 hatch dohc with lean burn enabled.

Everyime I look for a JDM mazda motor the big companies are in Jersey, or Canada. You can probably buy one will-call cash and take it home in the back of your car! I have to pay pay pay shipping 3,000 miles.
