Warmer, and Daylight Savings!

Love this warmer weather!
Plus with daylight savings time I don't need lights for my evening commute. I can EOC both ways now.

Most recent fill was 40.47 mpg, up from about 35 before the time change.

If you're trying to guess what headlights have to do with EOC, it's about long coasts with headlights on drawing down battery voltage. Not good for the battery, and I also am not really keen on headlights dimmed by running on 11.x volts instead of about 14V.

How quickly do your headlights dim? I feel like my headlights darken substantially in just a minute or two of EoC.

Once it dips down below 40 here a heat pump is assisted by electric heat, so we have already seen a 50 buck bump in our power bill. The less sun, less solar to go back into the grid and reduce our power bill.

Once it dips below 60 the insight starts to take a hit in its mpg.

HIDS work on a range of voltage and have a sustained brightness.

FWIW, our '14 Prius MPG goes UP at a rather consistent rate the cooler the daily temperatures get: NiMH batteries do NOT like our summer heat...even more than they don't like COLD. Although, in reality, it's more likely the lack of A/C-usage as the weather gets colder that's the real reason.

Looks like you need to lower your electricity consumption. There is some easy ways to do it but it can be a bit costly. You can put LED instead of stock incandescent bulbs. Especially the headlights. I have a pair of 25w Cree LED headlights and they are a lot brighter than the 55w or 45w stock headlights. I can do P&EOC for a long time before the 12v battery begins to be low.

You can also deactivate the DRL if you have it on your car. This is the best one IMO.
