I was going to mention that too, decided not to. All the more reason to be very careful about checking the car thouroghly. He might say everything is fine, but that doesn't mean it is, he might just not know about it.

so i ended up not going to see it, i felt it would've been a waste of time

Still searching for the right one. There's one 03 civic automatic with 85k miles for 4000 that looks to be the best deal just with one obvious flaw

ended up buying a 06 civic with 40k miles for $7500+240 tax on the title/transfer.

Turns out it sat in a parking garage for a year+, the owners son in law was liquidating her estate, a few scratches and marks on the bumpers, and it was parked under a pine tree for a few months so all that had to be removed with rubbing alcohol but it drives perfect, has new tires, only downside is it's an auto trans but hey for the price.....
