Allan, that place is a MUST SEE... I hope you stopped in. I went for the first time just after xmas 8 months ago, but family comittments meant I only had a few short hours. I need to go again.
They have one of the few surviving Bucky Fuller Dymaxion rear-steer cars (full concourse restoration, of course), a Chrysler airflow, BMW Isetta, Messeschmidt, on and on...
Other awesome auto museums include the UC Cal- Berrning/Blackhawk museum in Danville, Ca. or maybe it's Blackhawk, Ca? (mostly one-off specials and ultra-rare European cars) and the Peterson Auto museum near Hollywerid in Los Angeles, that has several Bonneville streamliner race cars along with many 'automotively significant' cars of the last 80 years. The remarkably advanced for the 1960's Summer's Brother's Goldenrod and two of Craig Breedloves' Spirit of America LSR cars are on display.
