That math is like asking how much it would cost to build Intel's latest CPU, if you shut down production after 6000 chips were built, and never made another processor.

Either way I find it funny that the auto bail out is something that was signed in to law by Bush then Obama was blamed for it because he wasn't able to undo it.
Other auto makers got bail out money as well, what have they done with it?

Let's leave the politics out of this, we all agree those inside the beltway don't have FE as their primary interest.
Which companies besides the Detroit 3 received bailout money ?
I read the link on PNGV and can't seem to find Toyota or Honda mentioned.

It has been said that Honda & Toyota watched the PNGV program from afar and it lit a fire under their butts. It spurred them to develop their own "supercars", thinking the Big 3 might be taking the issue seriously.
The irony of course, is the Big 3 did not produce any efficient vehicles for sale from the program.
So the Japanese (Toyota most obviously as it turned out) got a significant head start at developing technology & establishing themselves as leaders in the "MPG" market segment.

All three received bailout money, right? GM is just one of the big three automakers, so all of them got a hand out and what did the others do with their share?

Wait, I thought Ford didn't get any bailout money, just GM and Chrysler?
