I would like the Cosworth motor shown on Youtube doing 20,000 rpm in a Detomaso Pantera with hub motors feeding regen into a very large bank of supercaps just behind the seats to get that instantaneous torque that only electrics can deliver.

For some reason I'm also getting a bug to do a Saab 9-5 Wagon build too.

I can still recall a sketch I saw in one of the 'little' hot rod mags when I was in High school. It was a black-with-flames chopped '34 Ford 3-window coupe. What made it different, and unforgettable, was that it had baloney-cut megaphone lakes pipes that pointed over the top of the rear tires. And the doors had been gull-winged. The bottoms of the doors were cut off at an angle to clear the up-swept sidepipes. It was seriously cool.

So I found a build thread on thesamba.com for a Fad T with a mid-engine flat four, that was originally built in the '70s and is currently being restored.

Stretch the wheelbase and change out the faux header and you'd be on the way to a car that looks like ZZ Top's '34 but that can stand up on it's air bags and run up the side of a hill.

I'd like to put some direct-injection 2-stroke 3-cylinder engine, such as those marine ones, into a modern Saab.

I would love to do a rally build on one of the early 2000s Saab 9-3 hatchbacks I've always thought that the 9-3s were so cool and quirky.

Can you picture the back of a 911? Boxer engines have a low profile, especially on motorcycles.

How bout a scaled up Urbee minivan, say 80 inches at the widest, same proportions.

You can freely edit your posts within five minutes. Urbee is radically different from the Diablo, so OK.

I was thinking something like what the Blackjack Zero uses might fit (with it's Weber carb laid back over the transaxle), but it's really not much lower than a Porsche/Subaru boxer.

A lot shorter though. Hey, the Urbee is a reverse trike, how about this (scaled down)?

Edit: ...since nobodies posted in the last few hours:

I've been thinking about doing this to my Beetle, but in Lexan since Studebaker glass would be expensive.
