I love this thread, keeps making me think of new ideas.....my specialty, today I'm thinking a Suzuki Hayabusa with a dual trike conversion from a Formula 3 Chassis for a street legal quad faster than any car.

Most cars are a series of trade-offs. I have both, but the changeover, and planning involved limits usage. Having the option readily at hand makes all the difference. Much like having a motorcycle, it limits what/ who you can carry and what weather you can operate in, but the joy of riding makes it worthwhile when the stars align. Having the option mid-trip can open up opportunities that either by themselves cannot. The main being i can fly someplace, but I'm stuck to taking a taxi (if available) once there, and really stuck if the weather is poor. I agree, for longer trips, nothing beats a dedicated vehicle, but this type of vehicle does have its place.

I don't need the thread. The other day I had this thought about taking a little pickup, like an LUV, and replacing the bed with a cement mixer. To make a 6' tall cement truck.
Then it faded away....

I think he's thinking of an "X-Rex", with four wheels... Which might be easier to accomplish by swapping a Hayabusa drivetrain into a modified exisiting quad...

you guys are missing the point, the formula 3 chassis for the best handling 4 wheel vehicle on the road, fundamentally a quad, but actually a formula 3 car with a motorcycle cockpit, turbo hayabusas have topped nurburgring in the Radical SR3 and I think can be taken this step further.

That's a good point. BTW IIRC the Radical SR3 had a reversible differential in order to allow it to retain the same gearbox of the Hayabusa. That setup would be nice into a Suzuki Swift GTi from early 90's...
