Instant MPG, Throttle Pos (TPS), Volts (Been having battery issues), and Engine Load. TPS and engine load seem to have the biggest impact on FE

RPM (no tach)
Instant MPG
Tank Miles (no trip odometer)
Tank MPG

Nice gauges to have for base model cars with minimum instrumentation

MPG
GPH
TPS
FWT

The combination of MPH/GPH/TPS gives me the right information to lower my fuel consumption. I used to go 66MPH on the highway. This week, I realized that there's a sweet spot at 61MPH, not below and not above. Interestingly, the throttle was barely on, even with a headwind.

agree

i use instant MPG to see when i enter the slip stream of a truck, its way easier then guessing from road lines.

AVG MPG for that single trip, keep instantanious mpg over the average for a constant increase,

TPS to activly know when im letting off the gas also its way more accurate then guessing,

I switch between LOD and WT

MPG AVG, MPG Instant, LOD and FWT have been used in Moony as of late, MPH and MPH AVG have stayed for a while.

Edit: MPG Inst - Top Left; MPG AVG - Bottom Left; LOD - Top Right; MPH - Bottom Right. (Original edit: 2013-March-23)

Another edit: I do suggest to change the gauges from time to time.

LOD, MPG, AVG, and either VLT or fWT.

Throttle position is not a good indicator in my car; the resolution seems very coarse. So I go with Load instead.

fWT (degrees F Water Temp) to monitor warm-up in the morning, or any time it's cold-ish outside. Especially if I'm going to use the heater.

VLT if I'm going to be turning the engine off at any point in the trip. I've killed at least one battery in my previous car that way, and I'm not anxious to kill another one.

EDIT: Wow, that was some real thread necromancy there--almost a half decade!!
