Agreed with Balto and hippie. On the Escort ZX2, we have something called a Keman mod. We take out every silencer and restriction on the air intake. This gives improved throttle response and perhaps more power all around. I can't remembers since it has been several years, but the overall consensus is more peppiness and more power the closer you get to WOT.

I think I will try it out by using dryer hose to go from the air box to the piece with the MAF so that I can go back to stock quickly if needed and see how it performs hp and economy wise.

I really like the idea of the cold air intake part of Kerman mod as well... I could totally do that to my car and easily. I will report back with my findings.. Thanks for all of your help and responses thus far everybody!
