Oldmech adds a lot of value to this site. If he were to leave, the site would not be as good a place.

I am not a friendly person. I don't make much effort to be friendly, and I don't really value "nice."

I understand others do value "nice."

What I value is factual information and understanding of the physical world around me.

I value people who can help me identify and understand opportunities to do things differently then everyone else is currently doing them.

Several on this thread do not help me understand new opportunities, and in fact post information which is not correct and can lead others astray. Further, these same people discourage others from trying new things and ridicule other people's efforts.

I give HUGE credit for TRY. If someone has a dream, and is attempting to TRY, i will go out of my way to help them.

I have no use for those who sit on the sidelines belittling those of us who TRY.

I told a friend last year I think she drinks too much. Her life was spiralling downhill, everyone was watching it, and everyone was too nice to say anything. She called me an asshole, and then started a conversation with her husband which lead to her quitting drinking. I questioned why distillation takes so much energy, and invented a small scale continuous distillation method for ethanol. Someday it may change how much it costs to make ethanol.

I question why commuter vehicles can't get 75 mpg on gasoline, and I'm BUILDING a car to do it.

I question why Kammback can't be put on a receiver hitch on the back of an SUV, and I'm BUILDING one.

I questioned why county commissioners were siphoning off money to relatives, and implemented changes, pissing off people.

I question why things are done the way they are done.

I get booted from a lot of sites, and I'm not the guy you want to invite to a party if you are skimming funds.

But if you want a new way to do things, or you want to actually CHANGE the way things are done, or you want a better widget, then perhaps we can work together to make the world a better place.

You can start by pointing out my erroneous information. I can handle being corrected when I'm wrong. But if I'm right...

Like Frank says, if I am actually wrong, then you need to actually point it out. No gutter sniping, no baseless accusations, no whining about how the math is just too hard to follow, no personal diatribes against types of people you don't like.

Oh, and you need to do some research of your own, inventor. I've got a nice technical library that includes all sorts of college-level texts, and professional-level references.
