Too late! It's been sitting for a few years. A deep discharge apparently benefits the Insight cells, I'm not sure what it does to the Prius cells.

Makes me wonder what could be the easiest approach to retain at least some sort of hybrid functionalities.

The hybrid motor/generators are in the transmission. No easy approach if you swap the trans for a manual!

Nice trailer. How's the floor? About 26ft?

How dead is the battery? I wonder if it could be rejuvenated and the car sold. But then that's another car project on top of what you already have lol.

I concur. I can't drive my mom's Prius safely, I'm constantly brake checking people as my left foot habitually reaches for the clutch and hits the brake, and my right hand naturally goes for the shifter to shift. Driving automatics/CVTs is too stressful!

I've barely been in it. It could be nice, but instead it's my father's junk depository. I think the floor was a bit soft in the back.

Actually there is no transmission at all, being dependent on the electric motors also to provide reverse "gear".

Sure I wouldn't expect any approach to be easy. Either trying to replicate the IMA setup or some BAS-Hybrid could be considered instead. On a sidenote, trying some sort of analogue to the power-split device in order to allow a belted starter-generator to move the car entirely on electricity would be an interesting challenge too...

I just opened the battery. Quite a bit of corrosion and leakage. I'm not sure what to do with it.

Keeping an eye for some Lithium battery pack out of a Prius c or 7-seater Prius v to adapt as an upgrade?

On a sidenote, considering the Prius c has an improved version of the engine fitted to the early Prius and a chainless HSD hardware, keeping an eye for a wrecked Prius c to use as a donor would be quite tempting.

They all are.

The propane tank and fiberglass awning are deteriorated. But I'd like to have something that size in SpaceX 30x stainless steel with a graphene-concrete floor with radiant heat.
