What sort of shape are we in?

Have you lived in fear of physical infinity? Be of good cheer.

While he suggests a torus that is a torus whichever way you look, ancient philosophers said that Universe is a dodecahedron with the opposing faces doing a reacharound --err circle back -- wormhole connection.

So the surmise of this video obtains consistency with a five-fold symmetry.

Ooooh, if the ancients are correct, wormholes and all those possibilities contained.

I can get a duodecahedron die from the gamer places, but a toroidial toroid, not so much. Maybe from the place that makes clear plastic tesseract models.

There's a Randy's in Perkinsville?

You missed the clear tesseract joke.

Might want to check out "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" by Tom Holt

I didn't miss it, I just had no response. My thought was "Pfft. Just print it in PETG".

My suspicion is that the donut shop in Perkinsville was a practical effect using a scale model and forced perspective.

I haven't read Tom Holt, and it's too late. Internet has destroyed my ability to absorb long-form text. But he sounds like an interesting author. There's a lot of word play just in the titles.

  • When It's a Jar (2013), an ordinary fellow becomes a reluctant hero.
  • The Outsorcerer's Apprentice (2014), a fairy tale universe is exploited economically.
  • The Good, the Bad and the Smug (2015), Rumplestiltskin-based economies and Evil goes for a new, more appealing look.
  • An Orc on the Wild Side (2019)

Thanks for the look up, now have a new author to read.

Don't think Dorothy is from Perkinsville, so no.

This thread isn't what I thought it was going to be about.

I will present the answer I prepared anyway:

I'm in the best shape I've been in in about a decade because I went back to mountain biking for fun & fitness this spring and have been going out about 2-3 times a week since.

I've always biked for local transportation, but you don't necessarily get big cardio or strength benefits from that if you're lazy like me and use the lowest gears to always go slow up hills.
