Whats your tyre pressure?

im currently running 35psi. but my tyre max press is 51psi. what is the highest I can safely run it. also here temps are very high 30 to 35 deg C (85-90F) and I wil be driving longish distance every day (100miles) so tyres will warm up?

I'd say the highest you can safely run it would be 51 PSI. Even at high temps and with long trips. The hot pressures may be more, but the tire has been tested to be OK when starting out at 51 PSI cold.

I have my tires at 50.

I don.t know what the max tire preasure is. Michelin wont put them on. I also called them to ask for the max sidewall preassure. But all i got was that the max preassure for my paticulair make and model 2.5bar was. I have michelin alpine a3 tires. And i now drive them at 3.2bar.

48 in a 51psi max tire. I just don't feel comfortable being at the max something is rated at. Plus the road noise is more tolerable.

I usually do sidewall max, which is 44PSI for the Prius' current tires.
Anything between the recommended and sidewall max should be safe. I personally would rather be 10PSI over the sidewall max than 10PSI under the recommended.

Well above sidewall max for years and years.

Eddie25: FYI, a higher pressure will give you a cooler running tire.

I pretty much run 50 psi in all my tires no matter what the sidewall says... Its never been an issue, and I don't have abnormal wear, and I do check.

My tires are rated at 51 psi but I don't go above 36 psi because the ride becomes intolerable. YMMV depending on how well you tolerate a harsh ride, tire compound/construction and wall size. So I say increase it in steps and stop where you feel comfortable.

Hi on my volvo s40 i run 44 front and 41 rear which is 4 psi over volvo pressure. Any more and ride is too harsh on local roads rides very smooth on dual carriage ways and motorways. Also at the moment driving on ice or snow so might be high for these conditions.
