on my signature dealy, hypermiler means I'm above my epa by a certain percentage or something?
Ok, it's good to know that my info is accurate, .

On your signature, you are correct. This is your MPG divided by the "EPA combined" MPG that you input in your garage. Soooooo, you are :

27.9 / 22 = 1.268 => 26.8% over EPA

Is the Vulcan the 4V engine? They have 2 3.0 6-cyl engines listed.

I really am not sure about the two identical engines... one could be the station wagon? or I think they had a flex fuel for 97.

I'm wondering what kind of FE gains one would see with Mooney covers on a big rigs 22.5 and 24.5 rubber. Remembering that truck rims go in a lot more then cars do

Also I'm not sure how much brake cooling we'd lose out on if it would be safe or not.

Finding that giant of moon caps would probably cost more than you would save...?

Installing moonies

I am surprised that no one has checked out crexcrex, he installed full wheel covers on my integra which has alloy wheels without drilling holes. like his rex he used one torx bolt dead center and after three weeks of driving on all types of roads they are still exactly where he put them.

He can install them right on to the plastic cap. Stainless steel or aluminum moonies. Yes! the full moon covers make a difference but like he told me everything done properly and in combination with the plastic skirts that he made me is giving me better aerodynamics which equals better gas mileage.
He suggested convex for practical reasons to save gas and not set land speed records.

Thanks crecrex for your help, wait till you see his other gteat mods.

If you guys talked to him you might learn something.like he said he dosen't know everything but is willing to be of help.

It's way too early to tell,
but over the weekend, coroplas disks were added to the rear wheels,
screwed into the plastic wheel cover,
and the clear tape idea covering the front wheel covers
(ran out of coroplas).
But thanks to this forum, at least the project is getting started.

The Duratec is the 4V. The Vulcan is the 2-Valve engine and has slightly better fuel economy. My wife and I have a '99 Mercury Sable as our backup car. It also has the 3.0 Vulcan.

EPA estimates for the Vulcan
