whats this about a trunk? Don't you have a 4x4 SUV?
save maybe a few cents, but it all adds up to the greater good of mpg and not wasting..
No, It's 2wd

It wasn't directed toward me directly, but I'm just saying in general. It doesn't sound very smart to spend 450 bucks, then drill into them to save a few cents. If I were to drill, I'd find some wheels worth drilling into. And then you'd have to find out how to fill in the holes if you decide to take out the screws and take off the caps. you'd have rims that aren't worth anything anymore.

I'd do something that worked more, like wheel skirts that didn't drill into your body. Leave drilling to the beater..

thin plate on the bolts behind the wheel, one piece 1/4" threaded rod jam nutted in the center. done
IMHO the caps should be convex.

i used junk stainless steel hub caps, put them in the 20 ton bearing press bulged them out to suit my taste. the valve stem hole is covered with aluminum tape but marked so i know where it is.

yea I know someone else said it, that's why I was trying to make a point in why would you spend so much money just to screw it up? (kinda like those guys who bought a PS3 when it came out and then smashed it in front of the waiting people, but not nearly as extreme)

i have to check economy by the tank full, because the injector pump bypasses a large % back to the tank, no volume measuring device 'yet'. so variability over a month's time and 400 miles, I show no measureable improvement for wheel covers alone. but once the entire side of the car is modded then the small parts add up to make a difference. my A,B,A,B data is all in relative % of injector pump rack position @ steady state, so do not know what FE is, only better or worst. i adapted a TPS to my to injector pump linkage. so the data is just ohms of resistance. i read the TPS directly with my DVM so an instant yes or no.

Most people say sign shops, but you might be able to find some at a hardware store, although I haven't found some in any hardware store yet...

Sign shops that sell stuff for picketing signs and campaign signs are the ones that are supposed to be the good ones. they come in different colors too.

Yup, sign shops. I have also heard that there should also be 1/16" (?) thick 4'x8' flat sheets of white (ABS?) plastic at Home Depot in the wall section, but I haven't found them (yet).

I've seen it there actually.. has potential..

what I really want to build this out of is that fiberglass simulated bathroom bathroom tile wall stuff.

Home Depot doesn't sell it tho, going to Lowes tomorrow to see what they have..

p.s.
on my signature dealy, hypermiler means I'm above my epa by a certain percentage or something?
