so do you mean "COLD" Sacramento or "COLD" Deluth montana!!!!?????????

lol
so far so good.....also, electrician tape glue is not as destructive as duck tape!

LeCouch, there is a thin film on each side of the plastic from the frame

It's Wisconsin. Forty below is not out of the question. Highs in the teens is about as bad as it gets on a regular basis where I am though.

The picture frame idea is basically to save money? Looks like it's coming up about 30 bucks online for 2x4 feet of 1/8 inch lexan...

I'll take a closer look at the grill in the morning and see if I can come up with a good plan of attack.

Alright so I went to wal-mart and the poster frames all have cardboard in them. Picture frames probably have lexan, but the largest I could find was 12x30 or something. Not big enough I'm guessing.

Any other ideas?

Try looking in the phone book under "plastics" You may be able to find a company that will sell you cut-offs. If you make a template from posterboard or something else you can take these with you so see if the leftover pieces will work for you or not.

If you are going over the grill in the picture, I wouldn't think you would need much more than .020" thick lexan. There are many points of contact for support behind it.

Thanks for the idea. There are also two inlets on the bottom. (Slightly different than the picture)

Do you have an Ikea or similar ?

They sell a mat designed for offices (home offices probably) which goes under a chair with wheels to stop it marking carpets or floors. Neat thing is that its clear plastic, quite thick (roughly 2-3mm thick), flexible and best of all quite cheap. I have one for my prototype upper grill block. It was an interesting coversation with the Mrs when I bought it.

Another option is stationary (as in office stuff) shop. They sell plastic folders for documents and some of them are also quite thick and flexible, or you can double them up to be as thick and strong as you need.

For as small as his opening are, the floormate is too heavy/thick.
Home Depote has Lexon sheets in variuos sizes in the back close to the lumber.
Ikea is also a good idea for the large poster frames......
