Hey guys, I just happened upon this forum and decided to jump in! I have a 2013 CR-Z 6MT and used to own a 2011 CR-Z CVT. I'm beating EPA, but I'd like to really take my efficiency to the next level and I'm hoping this site will help guide me.

After doing a little reading, looks like one of the easiest things I can do is up my tire pressure.

The manufacturer recommended pressure is a mere 30psi and the max sidewall is 51psi. It's always hot in Florida, but I'm assuming if I fill the tires to 40psi before driving the car for the day, that should be ok, right?

You will get most of the benefit at 40psi and be well within the tire rating. If you can tolerate the extra firmness, you could easily push the pressure to 46psi.

One time I found myself next to a red Corvette with my red Prelude. I beat the other car off the line and across the intersection, but I maintained the speed limit, while the other car flew past me.

I never revved the engine in that car, except when I happened to be next to a good friend on a scooter.

I once had a coworker with a Civic Si who that she could beat Mustangs and Camaros. She also said that if someone stole her car, she would run it down.

"In your bus? This Civic Si that you say beats Mustangs and Camaros, you are going to run down in a school bus?"

We now return you to your thread, already in progress.

I like the CR-Z a lot. I was checking out some threads on the CR-Z forum where people are getting over 50 mpg for fuel economy. I was seriously considering getting one, but I decided I really did need a back seat.

And for the record, I often "beat" faster cars off the line...because I pay attention to the lights instead of my phone

I so covet the CR-Z. I run my tires at 52 psi, max of 40.

Is there really no backseat or is it just very small? Every time I get near one, I see it's not a standard and walk away

There's no back seat in the American version, but there is one for some markets.

Is there an aftermarket yet? Can you swap in something?

Standards are very rare. I had to have mine shipped in from another dealer since they had none on the lot.

There is definitely no back seat, but it LOOKS like a crappy back seat. It has storage areas instead. I have heard of people swapping in back seats imported from other markets. I don't see the point, however, because there is nowhere to put your legs or head. LOL

I upped all corners to 40psi. I find the ride to be a little more firm, but not unbearable.

My drive home from work I got 47.6mpg the night before changing the pressure. After upping the pressure my ride home from work was 51.5mpg. My ride home is late at night with virtually no traffic so it is pretty much the same every single night. I might have hit a few more green lights than usual, so I'm not drawing any conclusions yet, but it looks good.
