Here is an old video of the car. Here, the mirror is pulled back against the side of the car :

And here is the car with the mirror out : https://youtu.be/dATOXSCUbDM

I appreciate you sharing the test you did !
I love watching tuft tests.
Please also post to the tuft test thread as well if you haven't already.
You put a LOT of work into your car. 👍

Where is your build thread on the car ?
I'll try and answer some of the other questions later .

M_a_t_t :
Your test results aren't as pronounced as mine were, but as you saw, we both had similar results.
Apparently, as Julian was saying, the area around the window has even more low pressure, and this is causing the tufts to point upwards towards the roofline even more.
I also got quite a bit of turbulence in my test.

And regarding the video suggestion for your channel Julian, I too agree that you could do something on the Tesla truck.
Not only would it be interesting, but you wpuld probably gain a lot more viewers, since this seems to be a popular topic when it comes to aero.

No proper aero data has been released on the Cybertruck, has it? Isn't it all just people making stuff up?

The upward flow is likely caused by a [non]square windshield header. Anything with a hemicircular header precludes it. Maybe Elon Musk didn't see this, but he groks it.

Here are some CFD images from a toy program apparently created with children in mind.
It was called Falcon, and gave interesting results on extremely low spec computers in mere minutes.
It isn't accurate, but I found it useful.
It was extremely easy to use ( load a model and get results in a few moments. )
I'm adding the images here to show what the program gave as pressures around the car.

I plan to add some fences like we have been discussing and see what changes appear.

I started making a model in XSI, and found that there was already one at the Sketchup warehouse.
Free.

Free is good

Fusion 360 has a free option as long as you don't use it for profit.

Autodesk also has a CFD program, but I don't think it's free unless you are a student.

Blender is free and open source. But it evolves faster than I can keep up. Now they're adding node-based modifiers and a new asset browser. I let it intimidate me at v2.83x.

70 pages at 60 per page of car models:

www.3dcadbrowser.com/3dmodels.aspx?collection=cars
