Winter Wheel Spats

Do not waste your time!

These winter wheel spats are easy enough to create - in fact anyone driving in frigid temperatures on roads peppered with a salt/sand/slurry will be successful - however -these do nothing for raising mpg. Testing for about 2 weeks now has dropped my fuel economy by a couple miles per gallon depending on the amount of (weight) snow/ice on the hood:

Those types of spats cause drag losses by touching the tire periodically.

The one on the passenger side looks more like a wheel choke than a spat.


On a side note, it looks really, really cold up there... Brrrrr.

The Winter weather has been brutal here as well.


It only made it to 71 degrees today...

We just had a bit of an indian summer here, 54 degrees. It felt amazing. Back down to 5 for thursday night though
