It did reasonably well: 5th overall in "uncorrected" fuel economy out of 15 cars.

This is an event which required fairly aggressive driving to avoid being late at the checkpoints. The Prius C team had a fairly high number of penalties for being slow though.
At least they took first place in the Hybrid class..
They would have kicked butt, if the course was heavy city driving..

Are you sure she didn't bump the speedo to kph? I've done that before in my 04.

Yeah, that's what it was. When stepping between trip A, B & Odometer displays,
you just have to press the Trip button a quick jab.
To zero A or B displays, you you press and hold the trip button.

My guess is, if you are in 'Odo', holding the Trip button in for a few seconds will shift the car into Canadian mode!

The minute we started up the street yesterday I said, "It's true! That's high",
then looked closer at the display and saw the the little km/h

My wife checked the manual for the rest of the trip (no luck), but when we got to the Woburn Bowladrome,
it took me a minute to set it back to Miles again.
Then, I scored 95 for both games. (Which is okay for someone who never heard of CandlePin until 3 years ago).

We hit 1100 miles today! (Third fill-up). I don't know how much went in on the second fill-up (first after the dealer fill), so I'm going to have to wait for the next fill, to see if the calibration is okay..

Still wondering if an Add-on 144v battery charger would help our MPG.?.
Since much our driving is short trips, with 50% being in EV mode..

We live in a somewhat hilly area and many times the C has a low SOC when parked at home.
The next trip might be to the west, with very little down-hill for regen..
It might be nice to start off with a fullish pack..

Red cars seem to get more bird poop.
Yes, somebody actually researched that ...

Is the C rated to tow a trailer ?

I'm sure Toyota will tell you no, but aftermarket trailer hitch companies, at least some of them make a Prius C class 1 hitch. I'm sure you could tow a smallish u-haul trailer with it. HP wouldn't be a problem (unless extreme grades), just emergency maneuvers would get iffy if you loaded up the trailer heavy. Watch the tongue weight.

No towing is in the manual. But you can buy a hitch if you want it..
I was thinking of a class 3 hitch, so it will take our bike-rack, and small cargo hauling tray.

I'm pretty sure my Escape isn't rated for a class 3, but I didn't install it for pulling heavy boats.. http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f1...scape/F012.jpg

I looked up the bird-bombed red car study (from the UK) and I'm not sure that I believe it.

But, here in MA, during the years 1775–1783, wearing a Red coat was considered to be very hazardous.

Not much to say, everything is still good. MPGs around town are still about the same.

We got a bunch of notices to come in for the 5,000 mile maintenance,
but I'm pretty sure we won't hit 5k until 2014..

It was at 1511 miles when we got our last fill-up on 9/14/12.
The gauge is already down three bars.
