When you have vehicles tailgate you for over a mile on a freeway, yet they could have easily passed you well before, and they both stomp on it when finally passing, giving me the finger while doing so. Both were suvs driven by women. One of them I caught up to at an exit ramp a few miles later, she appeared to be texting and missed the light turned green and someone behind her honked at her to go

When the only time you break the speed limit is when your foot is completely off the gas.

When the only time you have it floorboarded is climbing a hill (trying to keep it in top gear).

When you'll squeal the tires around curves trying to save momentum, but take 10 times longer starting off from a stop going downhill trying to get up to 3rd gear speed before starting the engine.

When, right after filling up & logging your mileage, with high hopes for the next tank, you sit at the gas pump, engine off, watching traffic, so you can take off and pull out into the street without stopping & screwing up your fresh tank's mileage.

When the same people who call you "weird" for hypermiling complain about the cost of gas, but still hot rod around everywhere & let their engine idle a lot.

You know you're a hypermiler when.... you're running late and you still P&G. (I did +8 MPH above the speed limit to -10 MPH below.) And in the process of hurrying, you pass a trucker and WOW you get a huge adrenaline rush because you've forgotten what that's like! Not ONLY that, but you time it so you pass the truck while going down a hill and in EOC!!!

(It probably added to the adrenaline because that was the first pass on a two lane country road I've done in the CRX. That truck looked HUGE while in the CRX.)
