It's faster, it's more powerful, it looks (better/worse, depends on your tastes)!
And it has less room inside, including a smaller rear hatch, which I don't mind, but some complain about this.
I don't like not having a spare tire, that's what I don't like about the new Prius personally. But that's not to say you can't put a spare tire and jack in the rear and fasten them down some how.
The Camry Hybrid has more leg room and a spare tire, but less cargo space and slightly less fuel mileage, for $1,205 more (base model)

It's shameful to reduce hatch space, as that was among the Prius strengths. People (who don't own a Prius) comment that the Prius is "so small". Why did Toyota make it even smaller?

Hyundai doesn’t give spare tires anyways. Always gotta buy one after market. I’ll have to do the same with the Prius. Smaller hatch and storage is only a little less than my Ioniq. Surprisingly the new Prius has more rear leg room than my Ioniq. I could fit in the back of the Prius when taking an Uber but I hate getting in the back of my Ioniq. |

More leg room and a spare tire are something I wouldn't even lurk about getting rid of. For most people, resorting to a roof-mounted pod may address some occasional need for extra luggage space. |

The rage in reno for Teslas is a Thule cargo pod or two up top. Sometimes mounted backwards with the blunt side forward.
What are these people thinking? Or is the cargo capacity lacking by that much?

Because the Prius is a world vehicle and the American market is somewhat unique. Toyota now sells hybrid everything (I'm not sure there's a vehicle they sell that isn't hybridized, that isn't a Subaru or BMW) so the Prius doesn't need to be an SUV and minivan in addition to a small car. |

My impression of the RAV4 at the time was that it had less hatch space than the Prius.
The Prius was spectacular precisely because of the utility it offers.
The hatch area of the Prius was so good that a person of my height could sleep in the back. I doubt that's true of the RAV4 and the like.
