I think you're in for a treat. And after all, we don't own the same dang cars forever. <GRINS>
Wish I could use Imperial gallons. But on a serious note, is the display on your boss's car metric or MPG?
Thanks,

Another "crazy" thing I heard You can tow with just about anything, you just have to be realistic about what you are trying to tow with what. Giant pickup not required. I've towed with a metro, folks tow cars with motorcycles, for a living!

The Prius will be exclusively Mrs A's - confirmed for 1st week in July so I suspect the boss will put on some 'experimenting' miles before we get it as we are on leave that week
I'll probably get a 'go' too
From memory the display is l/km (or 10/100 km whatever it is) or imperial gallons MPG. Most cars in Europe can swap from one to the other, and a very few (mostly Japanese, we get very few US made cars here - Jeeps mainly) can also display US gallon based MPG.

Its illegal to tow with a bike in the UK.
And that pic would be unsafe - braked vs unbraked weight surely ?

Lol, I knew you would play the safety card. Anyway the trailer probably has brakes.

Apparently, its legal.. UK Single Wheel Motorcycle Trailer Law
...And i want one.
To cont' the thread tho:
"Keeping the revs really low ALWAYS saved fuel"
Well, not really. The engine maps ive seen give about the same amount of fuel below 2k, as they do at 4k..

The question, though, is whether all/most Priusitachi* are driving faster than ordinary traffic, or whether you just notice the ones that are doing it. After all, if a guy in a Prius gets on the highway half a dozen cars back of you, you aren't going to notice it unless he does speed up & pass. And since you, the hypermiler, are driving at or below traffic speed, you won't be passing many. So pretty much the only ones you'll see are the fast ones, no?
*The proper Japanese plural, of course :-)

Prius drivers will travel at whatever speed they believe is appropriate to their need: - sometimes too fast
- sometimes too slow
- sometimes just right
Call it Goldilocks cruise control.
Now if some silly busy-body wants to whine about 'those terrible Prius drivers,' well I say to their face RIGHT ON! I don't do it to change their mind but to follow the wise advice found in Proverbs 26:5.

Your displayed attitude is the epitome of an obnoxious, self-righteous, arrogant Prius owner. Since you are the proud owner of two, in your case the affliction is apparently doubled.
As for your quoting the Bible, remember: "The devil can cite scripture for his purpose".

Bob, I'm disappointed. You didn't even catch that I misspelled "much" in the second paragraph.
dcb, that picture scares me more than anything I've ever seen on the road. I know it's got to be legal somewhere and I know there was an engineer or two involved in its design and production, but that's scary as hell. And no, vinny, it ain't legal in the UK: The Maximum towed weight, including the trailer and it’s load must not exceed 150 Kg (330 lb) or two thirds of the motorcycles kerbside weight, whichever is the least.
Thymeclock- I see Bob as a little defensive at worst. An unapologetic fan amid what he feels is an unfriendly crowd. I've only known four Prius owners, and they've all been simply thrilled to own a car like that. I just see it as a vehicle whose main selling point is not burning much gas.

47) "Drive without brakes" (DWB) Minimize use of the brake pedal. Each time you press it, you're effectively converting gasoline into brake dust and heat.
