15 mph zone! That's nuts. Go to court and tell them you were treehugging and see if they let you off,

WHERE THE HELL DID YOU FIND A 15mph speed zone. Even school zones around here are 20 mph. I pet the PO sit there all day writing tickets, have to pay for those new mustangs and chargers some how I guess.... Sorry to hear about the ticket....

You could pitch a huge debate about it... if you called the local news authority... I'm sure they'd get you enough publicity that people would get pissed at the cops for ticketing you for something so stupid.

We have 15mph zones in a lot of places in PA, some are intermittent (school zones, for instance.) I usually stick with the speed limit that comes before and after the area. Unless I can see that there is traffic entering or leaving the roadway heavily, then I accommodate.

Indeed, fight the system! Those people get enough money from you in taxes! When you go to court, explain TRUTHFULLY what you were doing. My last seven speeding tickets were completely eliminated because I went to court and told the magistrate that I was speeding, and I am sorry for it. They have a tendency to reduce your fine if you are repentant.

Hey Funny,

What you just said was pretty much exactly what I was planning to do.

I misplaced the ticket, so I don't have the exact court date TIME!

I stopped at the police department where the court is held, but the clerk there wasn't able to determine for me what the start time was for the municipality the ticket was in.

Looks like I will just have to show up first thing in the morning on Friday!

If you ever get a really bad ticket... plead "Nolo Contendre" (No Contest). In most court systems, that plea has the interesting side effect of making the charge "disappear" after you've taken care of it.

This does not mean to plead guilty. It means literally to plead "Nolo Contendre". Say those exact words.
